Not everybody is a performer or should be. I think this old British woman gets off on being humiliated in front of people? Maybe it’s a desperate work visa situation. I’m not sure, but this thing was a garbage mess. Couldn’t even get through a costume change without having issues. ...

Really moving and thought-provoking script, delivered by terrific actors. I saw it twice, and picked up a couple of things the second time that impressed me even more. The intentional ambiguity of the story - I won’t spoil it - led to lots of post-play discussion in our group. Each of the 3 actors lived out their roles so realistically, it was easy to recognize parts of myself or former friends in each of them. ...

Sitting in the audience, laughing my a** off, I thought: This play should be on the Geffen stage-- it's that good. Timely, clever AF, hilarious and paints an incredibly accurate portrait of the Sisyphean experience of working (or banging at the door to get) in Hollywood. Rachael Hip-Flores is a standout, her gritty brilliance and seriously funny physical comedy chops in equal measure. ...

In Development was such a heartfelt and moving show. The way Johnny wove his real-life stories so vulnerably into the characters he created was truly beautiful. Watching an artist open his heart so completely, while also bringing us characters that made us laugh, reflect, and connect, is such a remarkable accomplishment.
The actresses were fantastic as well. They brought incredible depth, intensity, and humanity to each character, elevating every moment on stage and making the emotional journe...
