HOLLYWOOD FRINGE YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS
The Hollywood Fringe staff works year-round in support of independent artists, through training programs, artist funding and touring support.
ARTIST TRAINING RESOURCES
Hollywood Fringe acts as a training ground for artists to become their own producers and business liaisons. Between November - June, the Hollywood Fringe produces 12+ workshops, 5+ Town Halls and 20+ networking events to bring the Los Angeles theatre community together. Workshops are free and open to the public, both to our participating artist and the general public at large.
Panels are moderated and coordinated by HFF staff and panelists consist of past award-winning Hollywood Fringe artists and community arts partners. Workshop topics include producing topics + creative topics, from “How to Write for Small Black Box Stages” + “How to Tech Your Show” to “How to Budget + Fundraise” and other marketing topics. Our Town Halls are from the HFF perspective on how to successfully present your work under our platform, and covers topics from registration practices to how to best work with our press + industry platform to elevate your platform past your Fringe journey. Lastly, our networking series brings together 2,000+ artists annually through 20 various events in bars + coffee shops in the Central Hollywood neighborhood.
ARTIST FUNDING + COMMISSIONING
In an effort to create more equity in who is able to present their work at Hollywood Fringe and beyond, the Hollywood Fringe staff fundraises for individual artist grants, in addition to our Scholarship + Artist Fund programs. In 2024, Hollywood Fringe worked with individual funders to find work to support at the festival, including through Memorial Funds + other programmatic additions to fund 38 total works!
ONE:ONE ARTIST + TOURING SUPPORT
The Hollywood Fringe staff meets one:one with potential artists to help them plan out their artistic journeys before + after Fringe. From helping an artist develop a marketing plan, to helping them plan their trajectory with their work post-Fringe, the Hollywood Fringe staff prides themselves on being a resource in the sea of opportunities that are available to artists.
Additionally, our industry team will work with these artists to create a pathway after their work is presented on the HFF stage! From touring awards, to helping international artists plan a tour around Hollywood Fringe, we help bridge the gap between independent artists and the platforms that produce them. ON THE FRINGE PODCAST
Hollywood Fringe has launched a podcast series, On the Fringe in Hollywood! This podcast partners with local and international guests to chat about all things “on the fringe” of the Los Angeles culture scene, to open up conversations about all things underground. Our vision is to create transparency on how artistic presenting systems in Los Angeles work: from funding to creation.
