I Am Nahui Olin

johnny cannizzaro · June 23, 2026 uncertified reviewer
A very engaging performance by Virginia. One of my favorite things about Fringe is discovering stories I knew absolutely nothing about before walking into the theater. I Am Nahui Olin was one of those shows. Virginia introduces audiences to the life of Mexican artist, poet, and intellectual Nahui Olin with passion, conviction, and an obvious admiration for her. What could have felt like a history lesson instead becomes a personal story about a woman determined to live life on her own terms an... full review

The Men Who Drew the Universe is a spectacularly staged production that makes the 90 minute runtime fly by. Terrific performances, a tight, witty script, and a brisk pace make this an exciting historical field trip where everyone has a dark side to them.... full review

Hot Yoga

It was such a fun show! Ruby Marker played a really fun character in a funny scenario of her last yoga class. Her character was both relatable and pathetic, which I found highly amusing. It built to a very surprising climax, which was the perfect ending for this character. It was very well acted and directed. Great job to everyone involved! ... full review

White Lilies

Hold onto your lilies folks, this one will shake you. The script - clever and disarming - hooks you from the beginning and never lets go. By the time it's over you're left in a stage of shock. You'll replay the entire experience in your mind to reexamine things knowing what you know now. I dig a show that takes big swings like this, and White Lilies swings for the fences. It's the kind of theater that Fringe exists to champion. The actors, facing a very high level of difficulty, rose to the... full review

Wet Hot AMUSICAL Summer

“What if Wet Hot American Summer” was “Rock of Ages?” You get a much, much funnier Rock of Ages. I came to this show as a mega-fan of the movie, and was not disappointed. I’m not big on jukebox musicals, but this totally show works. Fabulously talented cast, shout out to the producers and the director/choreographer. From a technical standpoint, the room was vibrant and immersed me from start to finish. Great costumes and wigs that looked straight out of the movie. I talked to folks after who had... full review

MY LIFE IS A SONNET

These days we cringe, but once upon a time we used to find the courage to tell someone else about our fumblings and foibles with as much honesty as we could muster even as we winced at our failings and forgave ourselves all in the same breath. That's what Eric Weiner is doing in this one-man show. Let him tell you a story--really tell it--as if it were coming to him for the first time. As if you're in his kitchen and he's moving the chairs around to tell you a thing that maybe he hasn't told anyo... full review
