An Unforgettable Immersive Comedy Burlesque Dance through the Flames Peyton Ashby's one-woman show is a knockout combination of passion, education, burlesque, music - and sheer - literally and figuratively - bravery. I had an absolute blast watching Dead John. The premise hooked me immediately, but what surprised me most was how genuinely funny, clever, and well-crafted the entire show was. Wow! I didn’t know what to expect walking into the theater but what a journey. Damon and Nick’s chemistry from the beginning set for an amazing show. The storyline was intense, which was expected (per the poster/description). However, there were many moments of comedic relief. Two fun short plays set in a cemetery have a lot going on under their comedic surface. "I Hate How You Dress" is about death and the afterlife, mothers and personal responsibility. Funny and biting, but also sweet and hopeful. It brought a tear to my eye. "Our Cemetery" riffs on Thornton Wilder's Our Town, bringing together a group of theater kids 50 years after their last onstage performance.
