Adriana Martínez Barrón (she/her)

Adriana Martínez Barrón is a film and TV development executive and writer/director originally from Monterrey Mexico. She is currently Head of TV and Film for Stacey Abrams’s Sage Works Productions. Before that she was Vice President of Drama Development CBS Entertainment where she worked in shows such as “Fire Country,” “Tracker,” “Matlock,” amongst others. Prior to that she was Vice President of Film at Eva Longoria’s UnbeliEVAble Entertainment where she executive produced the telefilm “Let’s Get Merried” starring Michele Prada, Tahj Mowry and Xosha Roquemore. Before that she was Manager Latin American Original Series and Manager Latin American Licensing at Netflix where she oversaw over 35 TV shows or movies, for Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Colombia and Peru, including “Luis Miguel,” “Como Caído del Cielo” and “Madre Solo Hay Dos.” She was also a Creative Executive at Eugenio Derbez’s 3Pas Studios where she oversaw “LOL: Mexico” and “Y Cómo es Él” and worked on “How To Be A Latin Lover” and “Overboard.” She began her career as an assistant working for Sofia Vergara’s Latin World Entertainment and as a production coordinator in several Mexican TV series, music videos and commercials. Adriana graduated from the Peter Stark Producing Program MFA at USC and has a BS in Communication from Tec de Monterrey.
As a writer, Adriana most recently wrote, directed and produced the female friendship breakup dramedy play “Wedding Party (Or, Why You Should Not Invite Former Friends To Your Wedding)” which is premiered at the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival and which was called “Theater To Pull At Your Heartstrings” by LA Magazine and was a Semi Finalist Loud Karma Emerging Women and Gender-Diverse Playwright Award.
She also wrote, directed and produced the family satire play “ I Hope You Are Having Fun in Hell, Dad” which premiered at the 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival. The play, which was awarded an Honorable Mention by the Fringe Scholarship committee, debuted to sold out performances, great reviews and a Hollywood Reporter mention. Adriana won second place Loud Karma Emerging Women and Nonbinary Playwright Award for her work on the play.
One of her feature films was a Quarter Finalist at the 2025 PAGE International Screenwriting Award and one of her TV specs was a Quarter Finalist in the 2022 Scriptation Showcase Teleplay Competition.
