A great group of ideas and explorations on folk mythology by an energetic cast. The show boasts some good looking puppets and ideas, but they are not used to their full effect. A rough blend of storytelling, commedia, and clown that never seems to really find itself in the 90-minute run-time. I mid-June 1963 I was at the NYC premiere of CLEOPATRA, which cost $40-milllion, ran 243 minutes, and ended @ 100AM! I could never have imagined that 63 years LATER, almost exactly to the day(!), I'd watch a dozen youngsters ("20-30") race and shout their way through the entire same story in 97 minutes in a WeHo garage, and it would SEEM longer! Great show! Personally pushed the bounds of what I had previously perceived within the bounds of musical theatre. Margaret’s voice is incredible and Aria’s expressiveness as a computer makes you feel for their character despite knowing they’re just a mirror of the human experience. I've never quite seen horror comedy on stage. But this has all the thrills and chills.Fantastic!!!!! Very inventive. And the gore is just right. The two actors are really skilled. The maestro is bombastic and commanding in a way that really compels the audience through the peice hilariously. The cellist is truly gifted so the music he plays live is suprisingly transporting, which makes the piece even more thrilling. Such beautiful talent here. ... full review

Jam-packed with clever humor and pop culture references that keeps you on the edge of your seat - I feel I want to see it again to catch it all. A very strong dive into the ongoing -- and exacerbated -- realities of young girls and their lack of choice and options around pregnancy in this country. Poverty, lack of access, lack of education, and cycles of violence throw these girls into impossible situations that they don't have the resources or the choice to get out of. Black Bag Job is a must-see, within or beyond Hollywood Fringe Fest. I bought a ticket per recommendation by an acquaintance who introduced me to the Broadwater Theater. I’m not much for things meant-to-be, but I will say it was a rad series of events. I didn’t know what to expect, and the performance hit me like a truck.
