Since the show is only an hour, there's only so much that could be done within that timeframe. Even with some hiccups throughout that caught me off guard, it doesn't change the fact that I was emotionally invested all throughout. It has its funny moments as well as some hard-hitting moments that really left me thinking, even days after the fact. TL’s “Between Two Worlds” is a must see for all. Whether you are Deaf, hard of hearing, disabled, or not, she tells a story that many can relate to: not fitting into a box, enough. I knew that it would be in capable hands, having seen the work of The Porters of Hellsgate Theatre Company before, but in the hands of director and adaptor Gus Krieger, not a moment is wasted on stage. I was very excited to see this show and thought I knew what to expect, but it is so much more than you assume it will be in the best way possible. I don't want to spoil the show, but each character is fleshed out and the script takes you on a journey, rather than relying on jokes for its entirety. I was ready to have a fun night dogging on the patriarchy (which I did), but I was also reminded that stereotypical, rigid masculinity is harmful even to those that participate in it.
