The Fisherman’s Wife

The cast all have a wonderful time with this dark comedy, and they take us along with them. I really loved the use of puppets, magic and props; they added campy, fun element to the show that elevated the experience. I don't want to give much away about the plot, but you can tell the whole team handled the script and the story with appreciation and care. ... full review

THE McENFRO SHOW

The McEnfro Show is billed as Cirque! Clown! Comedy! Chaos! and it was indeed all of those, plus a whole lot more! Fun concept with two distinct tennis iconic characters battling it out for supremacy and the audience's approval. The climactic cirque performance did not disappoint. ... full review

WHO WROTE THIS? A young Bill Shakespeare hammered in some of his stylish, rhythmic lines, but whoever else penned this cavalcade of mayhem and double-crosses is not known. Regardless of authorship, the Porters of Hellsgate have spun this Elizabethan true crime potboiler into a masterly production. The accomplished cast includes Brittany Pirozzoli's coquettish criminal, Matt Jayson's and Brendan Mulligan's gullible husband and lover, Dana DeRuyck's and Julia Manis's none-too-bright but always t... full review

It is rare that I notice the direction and writing of a play first. The dialogue was sharp, witty and had a beautiful rhythm. The direction helped the team utilize the space and what a reveal! This piece was so beautiful and charming and necessary. It skewed modern tropes to let in new perspectives. As a Black audience member, it felt like a discussion made for me. Congratulations to this team. The play felt lived in. ... full review

PARIS + JULIET

Paris + Juliet is a thoroughly captivating piece of theater, brilliantly carried by Charlie Day from beginning to end. His performance is not only laugh-out-loud funny but also surprisingly lyrical and deeply moving. Day demonstrates a genuine understanding of Shakespeare, balancing the Bard's wit and heartbreak in a performance that is as thoughtful as it is entertaining. I'd recommend this show to anyone in Los Angeles...a rare chance to experience Shakespeare as intended: with an actual Englis... full review

DADDY ISSUES

david pavao · June 15, 2026 certified reviewer
Likable, charming, unassuming, approachable, trusting. To some actors these may seem like filler words to describe an actor's performance. On the contrary, these are Spencer Waldner's super powers that bring to life a very powerful story of finding one's place in the world and to be more specific, to find the root cause of one's identity. Spencer is a wonderful story teller and actor and I encourage everyone to see Daddy Issues. ... full review
