Mike Blaha: International Joke

Mike Blaha's stage presence is incredible -- he always kept me engaged and intrigued by what he had to say next. What I really enjoyed about MIKE BLAHA: INTERNATIONAL JOKE is that, while it was performed in the vein of a comedy special, it blended jokes with a thruline to tell a complete story -- which we don't always get from stand-up and comedy -- but the story here made the jokes even more relevant and stand out even more because I had an emotional connection with Mike and his story. In it, he shares various jokes he has learned from each country he's visited whilst sharing humorous events that happened in multiple locations. Ever the calm, cool intellectual, Blaha is matter-of-fact in his delivery. He lauds his life as a "Digital Nomad" which afforded him a new life away from California in Albania. Mike has been EVERYWHERE in the world. A naturally funny guy, with a great sense of humor, Mike has gathered a treasure trove of great travel stories, all of which he shares in a funny and engaging way. The show was only an hour long and it flew by!... full review

Great show! Was impressed how Blaha decided to make a nomadic change in his life and how he seeks humor and irony in his new lifestyle. I wish I were brave enough to make his choices. It will have to wait for another life time! Go see it!... full review

Excellent storytelling, you'll laugh and want to get some more stamps on your passport! Mike breaks down his travels with anecdotal stories and some jokes for good measure. Reminded me of David Sedaris or even a bit of Henry Rollins when he was travel story heavy in the mid-00s.... full review
