6/10 was a captivating performance that takes you on a journey of love, finding oneself, family dynamics, self discovery and ultimately happiness. I was left feeling impressed by McKinnon’s ability to take you through so many personal and pivotal moments in his life while commanding attention, laughter, sadness and at times disappointment and anger from the audience. This is a MUST SEE show. It is in all ways completely EXCELLENT, and easily the best show I've seen at this year's festival. In terms of the vibe, it's a campy and classic femme 3 Stooges medical horror comedy -- and it is so well done. The show captured Jimmy Stewart post-service trying to find out where he fit in the world after having served in combat. Soul searching and trying to find out if he still had what it took—or even wanted—to get back into Hollywood life. Such a funny show that provided an abstracted yet truthful feeling portrayal of real life experiences. Getting a taste of what Sam’s “day in the life” in Mississippi was like was both delightful and at times sobering. It really inspired me to the possibilities of an autobiographical show. At the end of the day, this is a girl who always brings the party and I felt that throughout, even when the subject matter became more serious. I think this is a very special show. This original drama play is hauntingly beautiful. Themes of repressing memory and emotions and secrets kept. It's a long play at two hours, (and the bathrooms to the venue are all the way downstairs so that intermission goes by quick), but if you want to be moved by a spectacular original drama this Fringe season, make sure to see Hummingbirds Are Not Machines.... full review
