On a review board full of glowing superlatives this artist has genuinely earned them. A high octane feast of language, searing introspection, and intellectual gymnastics. THIS is why we go to theatre: to be branded, to get lost in someone else’s dream and be tattooed by an Absolute Moment. Genius. That's an over-used word, especially when doing reviews for art, but truly, DOG is brilliant. A raw, emotional, heart-breaking story with writing so beautiful and poetic I was in tears at the descriptions of football. I went in knowing Ben Morowski was genius. This show is soul work. It's dark. It travels down. It has some levity but ultimately it just... goes there. Which is satisfying in it's own right. I wouldn't necessarily want to spend time with the mess of this man in real life, but Ben's version of this character and his breakdown is arresting. ... full review
