I was very impressed by the scope, arc, and overall performance level of this play. The actors were all very talented and in tune with their characters. The physical comedy and blocking was perfection, and the writing was very smart. I loved the structure of the play, and how the writing made smart call backs to earlier jokes or plot points. A smartly put together and truly unique play. ...

Forever blown away by this man's musical talent - on top of that, I was most impressed by the amazing crowd work. It is a rare ability to cast oneself in such a dehumanizing light and bring the audience along with them as a COMEDY. The facial expressions were delightfully well thought-out and sophisticated. Excited to see what else is in store. ...

I loved this show so damnably much! What a lovely goofball this cat is. Skilled report with the audience too. He 'yes anded' every offer made by the audience. He played on stage with such glee and generosity, there is no way you don't love Doofus. Silly as fuck. I fell in love....

Cirque Lunaire: A Puppet Debacle! What a wild and memorable play- Soup Kitchen's show is such an audacious dark comedy that uses puppetry not as a quirky accessory but as the beating heart of its storytelling.
The production leans into chaos with confidence. Puppets misbehave, plotlines twist themselves into knots. Josh, Peter and cast embraced the strange, pushed the boundaries, and let the puppets say the things humans won’t.
Soup Kitchen's aesthetic is inventive, and refreshingly unafrai...

Brendan is such an incredible storyteller, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to look away. The full range! I’ve seen his stand up before, and The Abyss showcases his expert joke writing abilities with an incredibly deep level of raw personal vulnerability and razor-sharp awareness. A beautifully crafted and performed piece that is jam-packed with intimacy, thought, and heart. He makes every person in the room feel like he is speaking directly to them. He truly is a rare and multi-faceted talent....

Raja El Majzoub delivers a haunting masterpiece in The Veil at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Following his Broadway World Award-nominated run of The Dice Player, El Majzoub channels a raw, hyper-focused ADHD intensity that leaves the audience spellbound.Blending live testimony with the profound literature of Mahmoud Darwish and Hussein Barghouti, this 45-minute show is a visceral descent into heritage, exile, and the liminal space between life and death.Daring, poetic, and deeply moving—this is ...

What do you get when you mix a clown with a witch? I was very curious. I am fond of both, but it’s so easy to play a caricature of these creatures, and to push with bad acting, what you don’t organically have within you.
And then you meet a performer like Elena, who is entirely fresh and spontaneous with a brilliant mind, who keeps you on your toes, engaged, as you laugh and sigh and love with her.

In ANGST, Spencer Weitzel rocks his anybody character, hounded by self-doubts and anxiety--ably portrayed onstage by Theo Fay--all over the theater and deep into our heads. At one time or another, we've all heard a defeatist interior voice tell us, "that won't work, that's stupid, no one will like it," and stop us cold before we try. I've never seen a play where the voice personified harasses a character so completely and viciously. Great work from Weitzel, Fay and director Casey Buxton-Dean....
