What a delight! This transported me back to middle school (though the fights I had with friends were never quite so intense!) This show was an honest depiction of the emotional rollercoaster of being a pre-teen / early teenage girl. I think teenage girls in media are often portrayed as either sex objects or complete jokes, and I appreciated that this showed that they are just as complex as any other character. I felt like we were laughing with them, not at them.... full review

Dara understands grief. And what Homecoming conveys is that is a complicated emotion that we all will face at some point but some become acquainted with it sooner than others. This is such a fantastic concept! Telling a life story through the different shoes she's worn was a great idea. I found myself looking at the many and varied shoes on stage and wondering what each one stood for. I was extremely impressed. The writing was composed of tangled, interrelated layers, which made grasping very fine shades of difference within those layers a requirement for understanding the performance. It wasn't until the very end that I was able to see the whole that all the layers taken together constituted. This made the experience quite breathtaking.
