An absolute stunner of a show. A heart wrenching but beautiful story about family history and standing up for what is right. Taking place under the looming shadow of both the Vietnam war and Japanese interment camps, Alli challenges the audience to question if they themselves are on the right side of history. A delightful crowd pleasure with lots of silliness, fun, and touching moments. It was refreshing to see gender roles reversed with silliness like alpha female cowboys “not having emotions” and male librarians with “too many emotions”. Then, there is singing and dancing to-boot! Urgent Care is one of the most polished and professional shows I’ve seen at Fringe so far. Cypress Cai has an amazing directorial eye and managed to navigate a script with several set changes in a small theatre with artistry and ease.
