This is one of my top fringe shows this year. The writing is so tight, the jokes hit so hard, and Brendan’s delivery is flawless. And then it all culminates in a heart wrenching story and tone shift you don’t see coming, and yet feels inevitable after the incredibly well crafted storytelling that preceded it. Nun Slut feels very mischievous - that is the first word that comes to mind when I think about this show. Why was she recording everything hahaha? Despite not knowing why, I loved it. My favorite clown bit is one that makes perfect sense in not making sense, and is left unexplained. Genuinely makes me laugh a lot. Brian Rohan has done the impossible and brought Jimmy Stewart back to life! The play is beautifully written and gives us a peek into difficulties Stewart faced after his return from serving in WWII. What a reimagining! This is a story steeped in history and nature. This is a Lady MacBeth who is wild and cautious, grieving and fiercely loving, kin to warriors and a poetess. The play is so grounded in the time and place, so immersed in historical goings-on and human emotions, that the mysticism feels somber and grounded too, rather than flighty or silly. My favorite thing about this show was that every time there was a lull, Sophie returned to what I can only assume (because I missed the first 5 minutes) was the (for some reason) slightly evil (in a fun way) embodiment of an orgasm, and it made me laugh every time. She's a performer with such delight in her eyes, it made the entire show entrancing to watch. (AND can we have a round of applause for the costume??) BRILLIANT.... full review

TO be honest - quite brilliant. [SPOILERS AHEAD]. I loved the way physical comedy was interwoven in a piece where the entire premise is the character giving a speech. ESPECIALLY opening the wine bottle. I also loved all these little phrases Max kept returning to, like "settle down" or "I'll see you at the [name of bar]" (sorry to the Broadwater but I forgot the name). Diane Diane: The Parole of a Lifetime is gloriously unhinged in the best possible way. Every time I thought I knew where the show was headed, it took a hard left turn into something even funnier. It’s inventive, surprising, and completely original. Elissa (as Diane) commands the stage with her impeccable comedic timing.
