DINOSAURS is a true Absurdist play, with razor-sharp, quick-paced dialogue and heart-outta-the-chest vulnerability. Mandy Rubeli uses a theatrical symbol to great effect. The performances were unanimously powerful, with special mention paid to both Mandy and Hailey Hudson for their specificity and layered realities. The juxtaposition of a whimsical, funny musical about murders and true crime works as Marcelina and Johnathan sing, spin, and slash their ways into our hearts. Taya is a magnetic performer who has conquered so many skills that she can whip them out with a literal second's notice: her facial expressions, physicality, accents, and ability to pull from real life experience came together in perfect concert. I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with Brendan for over a decade, and this show is such an incredible distillation of Brendan's journey as a comedian, son, and brother. His show is at once laugh out loud hilarious and a gut punch emotionally— not an easy needle to thread but Brendan does it effortlessly in this show. Simply incredible! Mr. Ow will shower the audience with glamour, magic, and silliness. You forget how good the mentalism and magic is by how fun the stage presence is.
