I saw the show at a preview when it still had a few small bumps, such as more than one cast member having to cover roles for others who couldn't make the performance. Sight reading a part in a musical would seem to me to be one of the biggest live challenges that can be handed to an actor. And yet, as in concert with the theme of the show, the cast was not licked and forged ahead, admirably, full steam. I was very touched by this show, mostly by the lyrics, which told raw stories blanketed with hope, community, and recovery.
