It made my heart smile to see an all Asian/Asian American cast and kudos that this was a CalArts student production! As an Asian American, it was powerful to see performers who looked like me. In the wake of asian hate crimes and the newfound focus on asian american stories, Something In The Air presents so many deep and meaningful stories from across the asian american diaspora. It hit many hard hitting topics such as Asian fetishization, familial pressure, and so many other issues immigrant children face everyday. CalArts students created a play which was both entertaining and meaningful. They all had fun on stage and told their stories. It was obvious that Chacha mixed her college experiences with the current anti-Asian sentiment in the US to flesh out this story. Congrats to yall. ... full review
