When you see a show from Theatre Unleashed, you can count on solid script, smart directing, and elevated set/costume/props design. What surprised me about their newest show was the level of thought put into the complex and layered storytelling - a lot of this is attributed to Greg Crafts' excellent script, but you see it in directing and acting choices too. Seeing a TU show is always a good bet, but TATTERED CAPES impresses across the board.... full review

Tattered Capes is one of the finest shows Greg Crafts has ever written. I've seen a lot of his work, but for sheer personal force, character development and definition, and dialogue, this show is a huge accomplishment. Add in the unbelievable choreography and some of the best stage combat I've seen at literally any level of theatre, and what Greg, Soda Persi, Corey Lynn Howe, and their cast have accomplished is stunning.... full review

The story created here subverts the superhero tropes well. Full of funny jokes about secret identities and superhero struggles, the play's core centers around a married couple's struggle that is very real and very poignant. It definitely gave me some serious feels. ... full review

A mash-up love story somewhere between Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Jean Grey/Scott Summers, this was a perfect show for my Fringe Friday late night! I enjoyed the creative energy and heart behind this production very much.... full review

An ambitious and creative take on the super-hero genre we have come to know so well. The script by Greg Crafts asks a lot of his actors and the director, and everyone delivers. It's a skillfully woven action drama that has everything from love scenes to fight scenes. Even one love scene THAT IS a fight scene! ... full review

Theatre Unleashed at their best. I would say don't miss it, but you're probably going to because it's sold out the whole run. Keep a look out for extensions for this one. It's worth your time. ... full review

This is a fascinating exploration of all things superhero through the lens of a married couple who do not know that they are secretly both good guys. The most intriguing aspects of the show are hard to discuss without giving anything away but, in general terms, the show seems to explore the potential for tension in a relationship when it appears trust has been betrayed while it sends both characters through an emotional gauntlet that questions just what it might take to turn a good person into a bad one. ... full review
