This is one to see, friends - and as many reviewers before me have noted, this is what Fringe is for. As the program tells us, this is the second act of what I now hope will one day be a full play. You might think you have seen everything there is to see, from every possible angle, about The Beatles and John Lennon but this play here explores an incident that could just as easily happen today to an artist and ends up being about so much more than just this snapshot in Lennon's timeline. The performances are a delight. The script is solid. It's worth the time it takes to park, and though that might sound like nothing, on a weeknight, it can feel like we've entered the realm of Mad Max out there looking for a spot....
Incredible casting. Not only do many of the cast members have the fortunate perk of resembling their real life counterparts, every single performer was excellent.
The already great cast has a compelling script to work with, and one can only assume solid direction guiding it all.
Funny where is should be, captivating when it needs to be serious. The play understands what it wants to be and the team involved has brought that vision to life....
A snapshot of Beatles history that is succinctly told, sharp storytelling- compelling performances - go see this!
Per the program it is part of a larger project. Cannot wait to see more!...
This is what the Fringe is for!
This look at one moment in the young life of John Lennon, one whose repercussions extended through his solo years and death, is a unique and marvelous piece, beautifully written, directed, and performed. For even the casual Beatles fan, it's a great education into a now-mostly-forgotten disaster that nearly ended the group; and for those with the knowledge of it, it serves up a brilliant look into the psychology of this tormented, egotistical, genius far too young for all he was experiencing. ...
