Jim Blanchette

Jim is happy to be contributing to the Fringe favorite 25 Plays Per Hour for his fifth HFF, this time as a writer. Currently, Jim is also a contributing writer for the production Wish You Were Here, a collection of 10-minute plays based on vintage postcards, opening in July 15th, 2022 at the Durango Arts Center in Durango, Colorado. In 2019, Jim was the writer/director of Transference, garnering a welcome Double Sweet Rating from Better Lemons. He directed 2018’s critical favorite The Women of Lockerbie, also a Double Sweet winner. He wrote and performed, with Jacob Smith, in the parody The Best of Albuquerque Fringe 2025 in 2015. Jim has been working as a dramaturg and director for Write Act Repertory for the last decade and a half and has guided many works to premiers on both coasts; including Swing (dramaturg – LA), It Came From Beyond (director – Off Broadway), Lili Marlene (drtg. – LA, dir./drtg. – OB), The Pillars of New York (dir./drtg. – LA & OB), Renewal (drtg. – OB, dir./drtg. – LA) and The Devil’s Bride (dir./drtg.)
