Just. WOW! Heather Dowling takes a very personal subject & weaves in both heart felt humanity & light hearted comedy in a way that only she could. As a woman over 30, I can't count how many times I get asked when I am planning on having kids. Whether you want them or not -- people somehow feel entitled to ask you. Heather tapped into her own vulnerability with truth and transparency ... I just can't say enough. Heather brings us into not only her world but into her marriage and how the desire to have a family affects it. I saw this show when it was just a reading and knew the writing was great already. It was wonderful to see it fully developed and how far it came with the character work and with suggestions given at her reading. I loved the way Heather inhabits each character, taking her time, totally being in each moment. The flow of the show is perfectly timed, with the transitions from scene to scene and character to character perfectly timed , so that the story is easy to follow and digest. She takes us on an emotional journey, with all the strongest and most tender moments given just the right amount of time and emphasis. The writing, acting, humor and overall storytelling is exellent!Her openness and honesty cracked open my heart and touted me on the deepest level. Heather is a wonderful writer. She comically unfolds the journey so expertly that we hardly notice the pain (but it's still there in just the right amount). She has a great way of expressing herself in a way that is completely relatable, whether you have kids or not. We've all desperately wanted something that was unattainable, and Heather bundles up that anguish and delivers it with laughter through tears.... full review

Wow! I am impressed with the solo show "FERTILE" performed by the talented Heather Dowling. The show is intelligibly and humorously written with many touching moments that make you laugh then cry, it takes on a big issue plaguing many women and men with a fresh perspective that isn't usually shown or talked about and the specificity of each character is brought to life by Heather's amazing acting chops. I've seen a few solo shows and none are anything close to this one. I highly recommend watching this show. ... full review
