Moving and fun, this show brought up a near-and-dear issue of appropriation and taking a look at the other side. This is exactly what "meta" is meant for! J. Elijah Cho takes a controversial piece of artistic history and fills it with compassion while still not condoning the facts. He got to the heart of the matter in a really fun way, proving that comedy can still punch you in the gut.... full review

This wonderfully multilayered comedy made me laugh, and then it made me want to cry because the subject matter hit me close to home as I am the mother of two CeltoKorean daughters who struggle with the subtle undertones (and not so subtle undertones) of racism in their daily lives and careers. The tongue in cheek humor was brilliantly rendered - a real Fringe delight. ... full review

I absolutely loved this show. It is sincerely one of my favorite (top 2 for sure) of every show I've seen so far - of about a dozen this weekend. I have been recommending it to everyone I know. I had no idea what to expect and I was utterly charmed by the performance, writing, and direction. If you remember those old Mickey Rooney films, or Rooney's interviews in his older age, you'll get a huge kick out of this. GO!!... full review

Mr. Yunioshi is a 50 minute gem - a smart and original piece of satire, that sheds light on one of the most infamously racist performances in cinema history. J Elijah Cho has a dry and effortless touch as both performer and writer, deftly balancing absurdity, sincerity and darkness. I do not know Mr. Cho, but look forward to seeing more from him.... full review
