This show was hilarious! This is a must-see for anyone who has ever done theatre. Funny and poignant and all the things you hope for when you go into a (kinda) dark room to watch a story....

For everyone who has every done a Fringe show, Blackboxing is must see theatre. Matt Ritchey sharpens the blade of his years of festival theatre experience and lovingly skewers every wonderfully awkward stereotype. Matthew Martin's fluid direction moves Ritchey from performance to performer with ease. And we should ALL have a stage manager as wonderfully honest as Jim Niedzialkowski, who steps out of the booth to keep it real and bring a beautiful heart....

Blackboxing is terrific fun. It's comical yet heartfelt, and a terrific vehicle for the very talented Matt Ritchie. It's an insightful full-on hour of 'poking fun' at the stereotypical one-man Fringe show. Highly recommended....

I really enjoyed this. I personally have never been a big fan of one-man shows, so I love that Blackboxing expertly parodies it. Matt Ritchey has always been a terrific Director and Writer, but I was so surprised to see how talented a performer he was. The debates with the Stage Manager were deliciously clever. I don't want to spoil the end section of the show, but it was very powerful. I love the entire message of the show, "Why are you doing this show", it's a beautiful question that every single theatre artist can ask themselves. ...
