An extremely talented cast of two whips their way through a dizzying array of characters and costume changes with ease and hilarity. The songs are catchy and some are spot-on in capturing the overblown bombast of the 80s; "Referee" in particular sounds frighteningly like someone captured the music of January 1987 in a bottle. Wow! Wow! Wow! I feel lucky I got to see this show. Top to bottom it's hilarious and gushing with talent. Is it weird to compare it to "Book of Mormon?" Because I just did. LAUREN AND BRENDAN ARE AMAZING. They carried this entire musical by playing every character just between the two of them! And they did it effortlessly. It never looked like hard work. Even at the end of the show, they didn't even seem out of breath! AFTER SINGING FOR AN HOUR STRAIGHT AND PRACTICALLY NEVER LEAVING THE STAGE! That is a feat in and of itself. The writing is fantastic. The songs are catchy. The premise is so adorably sad and funny. Hard to believe this actually happened! I loved every minute of it. GO GO GO! This is a must-see for the musicals this year! The audience was with them the whole time and at the end a very well-deserved standing o took place.
