The self-absorption, the stagey spins to indicate another scene, the elderly African-American characters who are sources of perfect wisdom, the absurd amount of lighting and sound cues, these and more get gleefully cornholed in Jim Hanna's satire of one-man shows. The production is assisted by Caitlin Rucker's tight direction and a fistful of outstanding performances including Darin Toonder as returning champion Trent "the Soul Mirror" Isaacs and Forest Lancaster as the smooth and smarmy master of ceremonies. After you've seen one too many solo shows, see this one to get your head back together and put a wicked grin on your face.... full review

The 7th Annual One-Man Show Championships. Run to see this send-up of one-man shows. Brilliantly written and performed. It's insane.... full review

WARNING: Do not wear spanks or even a belt to this performance, as you are likely to bust a gut laughing at this phenomenonal show! Even those w/glasses should add a chain, or they will fly off! Jim Hannah has written an absolute delight from start to finish! Each performance is skilled comedy at it's finest!!! The only negative about this show, is that you might miss a couple one liners hidden amongst the never ending chorus of gaffaws!... full review

Top to bottom laughter from a brilliantly written show that exhausted my body, mind, and soul with joy. Outstanding, spot-on performances from all four one-person-show contestants/performers and contest host parodying the genre as an indulgent fusion of sentimental self-pity and sensational self-aggrandizement. This hour flies by, and, before you know it, you’re back in your home, shredding the notes you’d written about your own one-person show concept… Well done, Mr. Hanna! ... full review

Here's the thing, Fringers: this show is so good that I hate Jim Hanna because it makes me want to be him, or at the very least it makes me wish I'd written this show. Or was in it. Or could at least stop thinking about it. Now excuse me while I go buy a block of tickets to see it a 2nd time and take a slew of folks. P.S. - the cast is PHENOMENAL (with a special shout-out to alternate Lindsay Wray, who blew me away). DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW.... full review

Congratulations on a wonderful show! Very funny and very smart. It is a rarity to have both of these in one show. 7TH ANNUAL had them both in spades. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Huge laughs from everyone in the house. The cast was excellent. If you have a chance to see this one, please do. You won't be disappointed. ... full review

This is a must-see! This brilliantly written comedy is supported by flawless and energetic performances. The cast is an incredibly tight ensemble. If you only see one Fringe show this season, see this one.... full review

This is one of the funniest shows I've ever seen on stage - not just in Fringe, ANYWHERE! I would have to call this "inspired hilarity" - poking ruthless fun at solo-performance but at the SAME time acknowledging the passion, the creativity and the fun of it! As a solo-performer myself, there were many laughs of recognition - but, honestly, there was no way I could not laugh given the sharp and brilliant writing and perfectly timed comedic performances on that stage. CHEERS to the cast and crew for this masterful comedic romp!... full review

Fucking NAILED it. As I told Jim Hanna, "your genius pulsates through that bitch of a play like strychnine." This show is a rattlesnake that I suspect will snap out the telling clichés in my mind as I watch one man shows at this and future fringes. The tightly written stream of words comes pouring out of these absurd-yet-recognizable characters in the most unpredictable ways. You've already heard about it. See it. I want a tee shirt with Jim Hanna on it.... full review

Jim Hanna's sharply satirical script reveals the dreams and desires of the four regional One-Man Show Finalists as they compete for the coveted title of One-Man Show Champion in Omaha. See my complete review at "original article."... full review
