A smart, deeply personal and very funny show combining magic, drama and comedy together into a delicious chicken soup for the soul...just like the kind you'd get a good Jewish deli. ...

This show is gorgeous. Izzy has such an inviting, calm, in control energy while onstage. He's navigating some heavy subject matter, and at no point does the audience feel in danger, because Izzy is so commanding and gentle and FUNNY. Also the magic was legitimately gasp-worthy! Peyton did a fabulous job directing this – good pacing, stage picture, lighting design, everything. Bravo!...

"Do BETTER" is raw, hilarious, deeply moving, and brimming with unexpected magic (literally and emotionally). It’s a beautifully crafted exploration of grief and identity, tracing the journey of losing a parent as a child and the way that loss ultimately shapes a person.
What makes this show so unique is the way Izzy weaves dark humor with stunning magic tricks that aren’t just clever—they’re profoundly symbolic and often breathtaking. Every illusion feels purposeful, not just in awe factor but in emotional resonance. The result is a deeply personal narrative that somehow becomes universal.
Izzy’s show is a testament to the power of vulnerability, storytelling, and unexpected beauty. It’s one of those performances that stays with you lo...

Izzy is a self professed theater kid, who through a story of grief has grown into a theater adult. That is to say the man has mastered the art of holding the attention of every single soul in the theater. Storytelling with magic can sometime feel unruly but Izzy's illusions pluck at the emotional core of the moment. It is quite a revelation. Go see this show!...

A wonderful blend of heartfelt storytelling, heartbreaking truths and an impeccable talent for magic, Do Better is a phenomenal Dramagedy that leaves you with the after thought of what can one "Do Better" in their own life's journey. Izzy Salant is a masterclass storyteller, with each personal life story beat having it's own life, and his unwavering commitment to finding happiness and light through showcasing live magic in between each harrowing moment was truly magical in itself. I thoroughly enjoyed Izzy's bold and brave retelling of his legacy thus far, and how each magic moment was orchestrated to blend with the storytelling. Fantastic direction from Peyton Ashby. This is one of those shows this past Fringe season that I won't soon forge...
