Aaron Pang

Writer/Performer

  • An Oakland, California native, Aaron Pang is a writer, storyteller and comedian telling stories to any one who will listen. A first generation child of Chinese immigrants, a choir boy, a former tech guy, and a disabled person, Aaron hopes his stories will inspire others to embrace their multifaceted identities. He is interested in leading audiences to places they’ve never been. Aaron’s work mixes the sincerity of storytelling, cynicism of stand-up, and the physicality of clown, to create an experience that manipulates and challenges the audience’s understanding of disabled narratives, bodies, and jokes. Aaron has performed at The Spaghettifest at the Elysian Theater in LA, The Riverside Theatre in Iowa City, toured with The Moth Radio Hour MainStage, won The Moth StorySLAM, Unruly Storyfest, among others. His writing and narrative podcasts can be found on Essay Daily, Proof by America’s Test Kitchen, Frictions Podcast, and the Michigan Quarterly Review. Aaron received his MFA at the Nonfiction Writing Program at the University of Iowa.
