This is the third time I’ve seen NATIONAL TREASURE and it gets better every time. Jim plays a treasure trove of characters who are all imaginary, based on aspects of himself and people he wishes he could be. Somehow even his best intentions end in failure for these rich characters, until Jim is forced to admit he might be “normal.” On the way he lampoons every kind of self-help, self-aggrandizement, self-pity, and self-empowerment. The show is full of great one-liners and running jokes. The irony is that the show is an examination and expression of failure, but comes together with great success. ...
