While the laughs far outweigh the moments of solemnity, it is Bill ("Rolly Posley") Posley's deviations into the serious - the fates of his boot camp brethren, the brushes with death in Baghdad, the dichotomy of occupying police forces both home and abroad, and finally, the (spoiler) reunions with thunderstruck relatives - which are the most poignant moments of this show, and which linger longest with the viewer after witnessing this tour de force performance.

I enjoyed the show very much. Bill Posley is an insightful humorist and a compelling storyteller. Everyone in the room was laughing, but there were also a few tears. If this show continues to run, I highly recommend more people see it. ...

One of the best solo shows I've ever seen! Bill's performance is immaculate and the journey he guides the audience through is an unforgettable thrill ride. His raw emotion, passion, and vulnerability are on full display in The Day I Accidentally Went To War. This show, directed by the incredible Bente Engelstoft and produced by the amazing Suzee Dunn, is the must-see show of the entire 2024 festival. ...

And for one hour, the entire audience was on the same page fully entranced. My personal favorite of this year....

Bill is a triumph in the tour de force performance that is The Day I Accidentally War. I didn't think I could cry during a Fringe show, but this one got me nearly there. I laughed, I (nearly) cried, and I was so infatuated during this entire show -- Bill lays his heart on his sleeve, and he succeeds in playing with our emotions as an audience. Overall, a cathartic experience. Bill, I got your back, dude!...
