RICHARD LUCAS certified reviewer June 29, 2024
Fun and imaginative journey of—on its surface—a young woman going west on a starlit dream. I so enjoyed this show. Time after time I was caught off guard with its fabulously unpredictable writing, high comedy use of props, costume, movement, song, and speech. All packed into a rapid 30 minute show. Filled with heart—and brains... plus a full helping of consistent silliness that gives it a peak fringe vibe. Highly recommended - Richard Lucas, Asylum Judge... full review

Wow. This 30 minute performance was jam packed with multiple vaudevillian caveats pulled from the intense imagination of Caroline O’meara. I was impressed with not only her storytelling, but her energy, as she at times turns into a whirling dervish on stage - mixing dance with absurd comedy - leaving me at the edge of my seat. Some of my favorite moments were highlighted by the lighting and sound tech she chose, but I wasn’t prepared for the plot twist three quarters of the way in. I’m seeing it again Thursday night and am excited to see how the show has progressed!... full review

I feel like I could watch this show every day. Something is going on in Caroline's brain and getting a glimpse of it in just 30 minutes has left a lasting impact. This show makes me want to take more risks and be more vulnerable. I love this show.... full review

Knowing this was a work in progress performance, I wasn't sure what to expect. But by the end, when it all comes together, this was a really moving piece. At times absurd, at times non-linear, this is a true homage to vaudeville that had me laughing and invested. ... full review

One of the most imaginative solo shows I have ever seen, that not only takes you on an oddball cowgirl adventure with surprises at every turn, it rips your heart out and leaves you reflecting on the historical treatment of women and generational trauma. Spinning movement, song and comedy with raw vulnerability and epic doses of charisma, Caroline’s performance is riveting from beginning to end. ... full review

I don’t want to give it away but everything she does is magic. An up close intimate one woman show the transcends space and time. Caroline the writer, actor, producer of this journey is engaging from the minute she steps on the stage. Her physicality and use of props is brilliant. I laughed a lot and then cried. I believe this whole thing can translate to film as well. Talent scouts, agents and producers come and get her. She’s as true a Hollywood Star as there ever was!... full review

I LOVE a :30 minute show, and Caroline packs a lot into :30 minutes. It's a loving tribute to a family matriarch while masquerading as a frothy Western...told by an Aussie who just got her US citizenship!... full review

This is my favorite thing I've seen in LA theater in a long time (and I see a lot). I don't know Caroline, but I could tell this was so HER. It was truly a joy. I was laughing out loud and also teared up at the end. She was hilarious and poignant and brave. The writing and performance were really a gift, and a window into this artist's brain/ heart. ... full review
