The Outdoor Fringe Event

January 04, 2008 by Ben Hill
I have always been sort of a theme park freak. It wasn’t the rides per se that attracted me – it was the experience. When I enter a given theme park, I don’t rush to the tallest coaster, I tend to walk around and soak up the atmosphere. I then start to get very judgmental – comparing everything to great theme parks I have attended in the past. I suppose in an al... read more

Panelist Updates

June 19, 2010 by Ben Hill
We’ve made a few changes to how paneling works based on some feedback we are receiving… First off, we have made the application project automatic. No more waiting for an overworked fringe staffer to approve you – you are automatically approved to start reviewing. If we find that bogus panelists are being added, we will go back an disable the account. So, reviews will n... read more

July 23, 2009 by Ben Hill
Greetings, Fringe Fans- It has been an exciting several months in Fringe-land as we continue to build your 2010 Festival. Let it be known: This is a big and bold effort spearheaded by many creative and driven people. Our dreams are sometimes bigger than our means, but is anything great ever born from feeble dreams? For those of you who need to be in-the-know o... read more

June 20 Update

June 20, 2010 by Ben Hill
Another day of Fringe! I would like to take a quick opportunity to point out some of the things that I am personally loving about this experience thus far: I am seeing a lot of young people. Knowing that our art forms have hope for the future – and that we as a community have something to do with it – gives me very warm feelings. Many of you are telling me y... read more

June 21 Update

June 21, 2010 by Ben Hill
Greetings, all- Another Fringe day…and here I am writing you past 2:30am, sitting on a Fringe Central couch amidst the bitter remains of kicked kegs and wildly unsorted flyers (seriously, I spend half my life sorting your flyers). A few themes of the day: The hand gesture of a plane taking off – seemingly to represent the the uptick in house sizes ... read more

June 22 Update

June 22, 2010 by Ben Hill
I sit here amidst the random remains of flyers littered across the halls of Fringe Central as I write this. The jam has just ended with the sad but inevitable farewell performance of Mr James Sherwood on the piano who leaves us tomorrow. A fitting end to his tenure on piano, (and continuing the Queen through line), we sang Bohemian Rhapsody slightly off key….ok, very off key. Also big t... read more

June 23 Update

June 23, 2010 by Ben Hill
Hope everyone is having fun! I managed to leave Fringe Central rather early tonight – we had a couple packed houses at Fringe Central and everyone seemed to be having a great time at the Fringe Central bar. Minus the gritty charm of our normal British Invasion hosts, the talented Mr. Abie Philbin Bowman stepped up to the microphone to MC the jam (this is the first one I have missed ... read more
