I loved Ritual Music to Cure a Lover by Shahin because, to me, it was both a beautiful performance and a powerful act of activism. What moved me most was how Shahin used an ancient form of Iranian story to amplify the voices of young people. Standing alone on stage and carrying such a profound story by himself was truly remarkable.
Although the piece is rooted in Iranian history and tradition, its themes are universal. At its heart, the performance is about generational trauma and the ways in ...

Absolutely beautiful production. I saw it opening night and ever since, have been thinking about its coupling of themes exploring both the Asian American experience with internalized and experienced racism, as well as generational trauma. I also love the portrayal and foil of the black American experience as a reference point.
The standout to me was Miya Kodama who was able to find clear and colorful character portrayals of two distinct characters in two different eras of America. She really ...

This was one of the most captivating one-person shows I've seen in a long time.
With just a chair, two lighting cues, and a mask, Spencer built an entire world through sheer talent and imagination. He is a fantastic story teller and I hope as many people as possible get the chance to experience it at the Edinburgh Fringe.

This show was an absolute blast. I left with a huge smile on my face and immediately wanted to see it again. I really hope this show has a long life ahead of it because it deserves a bigger audience!! Adam's humor is ridiculous in the best possible way. He is a great performer with infectious energy who fully commits to the bit. Amazing stuff!...

Such a fantastic and creative show! It was spooky, fun, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. To pull off a spooky, stand-up, solo show is an ambitious task, and he blew my mind. Jon is an incredibly engaging storyteller and this was a delicious treat to close my Fringe experience with. Great job!...

Beautiful, funny, SCARY. The best of horror and comedy. I feel that it is so difficult to portray horror onstage in a way where you actually feel that tension, but Jackie took it past aesthetic into real atmosphere. She maintains this, while also consistently and constantly being completely hilarious. I will find myself wanting to watch this show again much like I rewatch my favorite horror movies again and again. ...

Shewan Edward wrote and produced a valiant effort with "Hummingbirds..." and this cast put their best foot forward into the roles they were given to bring this sci-fi mystery to life. I was intrigued by the story and impressed by the staging. Also, why not support a free show during Fringe!?! It turned out to be a thought-provoking piece of theater with a lot of promising ideas. ...

This was such a fun, inventive, and well acted twist on Hamlet -- an alternative universe prequel of sorts when Prince Hamlet is a college student who falls for their TA.
