My One Woman Show (The Search for a Truthful Moment)

jim blanchette · June 06, 2026 certified reviewer
This is the rare show that feels like it was taking us on a delightfully aimless journey but then punched us in the heart with its poignant ending that it was leading you to the whole time. Stefan lets us ride shotgun through his personal discovery, displaying one emotional misdirection after another, until we finally arrive at his bittersweet conclusion. Try and get a ticket if you can. You will not be disappointed. ... full review

My One Woman Show (The Search for a Truthful Moment)

deborah geffner · June 06, 2026 certified reviewer
This was one of the best shows I've seen at any time - certainly the best one-person show. Stefan's mind is so mercurial and fascinating, and it's on full display the whole time. It's hilariously meta - fourth wall anybody? We watch him change before our eyes from a trickster and joker, imperceptibly becoming more vulnerable, till by the end I was crying uncontrollably watching him. Will he play that guitar? Will we get to hear him sing?... full review

Ghost Train

kristen gorlitz · June 06, 2026 certified reviewer
Wowzers! Do not miss this play. I was on the edge of my seat in this immersive and important tale of the echoes of the past that are playing out in the present. It is relevant, political, hopeful, exactly what we need in these times. Leia gives a riveting performance. I cannot recommend more. Love love love this play!... full review

Amazing Graves

kristen gorlitz · June 06, 2026 certified reviewer
Amazing graves is a two-for-one, with two 30-minute plays in a one hour timeslot. They chose the correct play order, starting with a fun look at the afterlife / remedying past mistakes in the beginning and then ending with a touching and hilarious tale of friendship and living in the moment by making deep connections.... full review

Daring Goodly

This was a shocking, riotous hour of nonstop ridiculous humor. I laughed uncontrollably long after each joke was delivered. Adam is genuinely, effortlessly hilarious. I would recommend this show to absolutely anyone and felt like I found a real gem getting to watch his fantastic PowerPoint graphics, perfectly pointed delivery, and carefully paced but authentically committed total breakdown. This show is meticulously thought-out and hilarious every step of the way.... full review

Daring Goodly

Adam Schwartz is an unhinged comedy genius. I laughed out loud for an hour straight and I'm not exactly sure what I saw. Nothing makes sense, but that's kind of the poin. This will not necessarily have a message, or even make sense at times, but it is the most fun I've had in months. 1000% recommend if you just wanna have a good time and not looking to, you know, explore the human condition or say something. This does not mean Adam's jokes are dumb. It's clear he's very smart and his brain is ... full review

Becoming Apparent

Electric. Olga Konstantulakis' one-woman show evokes the spirit of Like Water for Chocolate, erupting into a fever dream of poetic dissociation, resilience, and love. Written and performed by Olga alone, it carries you over a visceral landscape of honest clarity and tender heartbreak, leaving you laughing, crying, and, at moments, gutted-- your heart in hand, begging for relief. Her writing is as enthralling as her performance is powerful, drawing you into a world of rich characters that make you... full review

Cirque Lunaire: a puppet debacle

This show was rad. Visually stunning at points and funny all the way through and also dropped into a rock concert at one point. All the actors shined and supplemented each other so well. It was also a little spooky!... full review

Alps, Adieu!

A masterful mindfuck of a playwriting debut. Covarrubias writes with a whip-smart voice and a stages Alps, Adieu! with a gorgeous visual language. She uses every inch of the stage well and buries her Chekhov's guns so masterfully that you'll repeatedly laugh too hard to noice the shit about to hit the fan. This piece has the high-velocity plot twists, almost comically specific premise, and hyperrealistic characters of an EXCELLENT film. Each character has a distinct voice, a clear arc, and is bri... full review

Re-Visitor

lucy isaula · June 05, 2026 certified reviewer
Re-Visitor was full of everything I like when going to live theatre: costumes, wacky props (like a kids car that was used as a “real car”, camp, self-debilitating humor and introspection. The show revisits the artists time in her life when she put up a show where she plays a haunting figure haunting a house and a young girl, while bts she’s grappling with a divorce right at the same time. What I took most from this show is that regardless of what we go through in our own personal lives, we make a... full review
