SoundTrip: Fringe Edition

I had the privilege of acting in the first piece and I had an outstanding experience. I felt completely present and engaged in a way that is truly difficult to do in our modern world. I feel that this creative team is on to something brilliant with this innovation. A perfect fringe show! It's cool, weird, fun, and a whole experience that would never been the same show twice. Basically it is an audio immersive experience where they pick volunteer "actors" to come onstage and follow the prompts. I was picked to be an actor and how grateful I was to experience this! As an actor it's like a virtual acting exercise where you are hearing an inner monologue and reacting in the moment though a guided narration, but then you get to connect with a partner who has their own inner monologue that you can't hear. It was exciting and meditative, I wish I could do it again. I highly recommend volunteering. As an audience member I got to experience the other two stories. Fun concept that does a great job inviting the audience into the premise and getting folks involved. It's a show you can see more than once and have totally new experiences each time. Loved how the show builds. The third scene was the strongest with the production for both parts having pushed the premise the furthest and most completely. ... full review

What an innovative new way to experience theater! Very glad I had the chance to study and learn from this artistic experiment as a creative theatermaker (and participate as an audience actor!); the unique nature of the set up is what makes this piece worth seeing, and I'm looking forward to the at-home release.... full review
