"Desperate" is the key word in this title as Lola Luvv's desperation leads her to increasingly bizarre lengths to get the attention of a famous director who, I personally think, is overrated, but that makes the situation even more hilarious to me. That said, the sense of stakes felt way off....

I didn't know what to expect going in, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've seen this director's work before and he's always solid, but this was a different kind of special from their usual stuff. It felt like I watched a solid, little indie film. I could really picture where she was and what she was doing, whom she was with. I felt for her and her journey. It had elements of The Comeback where you feel for this person but shake your head at them as well....

Asta Leigh was obviously enthusiastic about her play, but she started out screaming and carrying on at level 10 and kept it that way for the entire time she was onstage. It's very difficult to stay at that level for so long, and when there finally was a moment where she broke down emotionally, its impact was lessened due to all the screaming that had been going on for almost an hour. Learn to adjust your levels and start at a less hectic pace and volume in order to grow your audience's interest in the story....
