I love the show. Mitchell did a great job with the characters and the depth of the story. I was impressed with how much information and story we got in the amount of time of the show. It made me want to learn more about the history behind the characters....

Great show! I enjoyed it immensely. Plenty of fun moments and touched on history and some important issues that continue today. As a native Chicagoan and Royko reader from childhood, this was a real treat. The full house (many wearing Chicago designs) enthusiastically agreed, giving a well-deserved standing O. ...

A topnotch portrayal of a 20th century journalistic icon, Mitchell Bishop does a fantastic job of embodying the very essence of Chicago columnist Mike Royko, to the point that you forget you're watching a performance. On top of that, the development, writing, and pacing of this show keep you engaged from beginning to end....

Just an absolute accomplishment. Mitch does a wonderful job telling gritty grimy stories through three characters for 90 minutes and it's engaging every moment. The video clips intermingle smoothly with his discussions. The production of this show is all around excellent. It's a top notch show that I recommend to anyone who happens to be a columnist for a Chicago paper in the 1970s. ...

I had heard the name Mike Royko, and I’d probably read a few of his columns reprinted in the Des Moines Register back in the 90s, but I couldn’t even imagine the impact a columnist can have on a city until Mitchell Bisschop brought him to life. Extremely well researched, brilliantly portrayed, fantastic sourced footage transitions, this show is engaging, funny, honest, and informative. Bisschop’s shifts from narrator Studs Terkel to Royko are smooth and hilarious. I learned more than I would have thought about a person that is synonymous with the city of Chicago and more about the city itself through him. Definitely see this show!...

What an exceptional example of how a one-person show can be entertaining AND relevant. Playing the legendary Chicago columnist, Mike Royko, Mitchell Bisschop brilliantly weaves together Royko's own columns to paint a picture of a man unafraid to use the report of his typewriter to take aim at some of the most corrupt and dangerous people (and prejudices) of his time and of the town he loved. ...
