Drought begins quite disarmingly with mythic riffs on the historic ocean of female oppression. Then Kate Radford opened her mouth to sing and became that ocean. Vast and deep, powerful and personal, her loops lured me in and pulled me under until I surrendered. Then she returned me to the surface and laid me breathless on the shore. I almost died.
