Make no mistake, humans, this show is not only for Trekkies and Trekkers. Doing so would be a disservice, not only to humanity, but literature, and this shockingly great theater company.

This was a lot of fun. It works even if you're not a Trek fan because of the inherent silliness of it all, but if you are a Trekkie as I am then you'll appreciate it even more....

What do you expect this show to be when you look at the title? That is EXACTLY what you get--and sometimes, that is enough. The moment this production began and I realized we were about to see a Klingon theatre company's take on an old Terran play, I was absolutely ready for anything that came afterwards.
And that's exactly what you get--a medieval play that seems tailor-suited to be transformed into a tale of the rise and fall of multiple Klingon emperors. The play lent itself so well to becoming a Klingon one that I am almost certain that Marlowe was actually -inspired- by Klingons when he wrote it....

Klingon Tamburlaine commits beyond 100% to its source material and treats the piece more seriously instead of just making it a one-note joke. The bits of humor throughout are well-timed (the dead body spraying mist might be the funniest bit I've seen so far this year at Fringe), and the actors all disappear into their various Klingon and non-Klingon roles....

This show is so specific that you'd think it was for no one, but it turns out it is also so earnest, fun, and well adapted that it might just be for everyone....

A fun and lively show, filled with sensational drama that was leaned into, an awareness and respect of the texts they were combining that breathed playfulness into the experience, and enjoyable even to people only mildly familiar with Star Trek! I was entertained, excited for the next spectacle, and was thoroughly happy when I walked out. ...

I literally don't know anything about Star Trek and still managed to really, really enjoy myself with this one. So much so, I want to go do research on this Marlowe play that I honestly know nothing about and Klingons, which I know even less about. :) ...

Fascinating intergalactic yet traditional version of the Marlowe tragedy of ambition. Well integrated with Klingon mythology and traditions....

Admittedly, like a few of the other people posting comments, I am not a trekkie or purveyor of the classics. That said, I was very impressed and was able to really appreciate the craft that went in to it. Many moments of brilliance. ...
