Octopi Wall Street

ensemble theatre · and/yet/1951 · Ages 12+ · United States of America

world premiere

Octopi Wall Street comes at the subject of climate change through a series of vignettes, some comedic and some serious, told from the perspective of both human and non-human entities (think drunk birds, drag queen barley, algae and a glacier). The play is based on extensive research of main stream media articles dealing with off-beat aspects of global warming and climate change. The opening monologue of the play recently won a nationally recognized award at the Region 8 Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival as its 2019 Monologue Selection. It also won the festival’s Best Actor and Best Director awards respectively for its performance. The monologue will soon be published in “The CAPTURED” the multimedia student research journal of Cal-State University, Northridge and in the inaugural edition of "Articulate"—a new graduate student journal of Literature and Rhetoric studies at Cal-State University, Northridge.
