In a festival filled with solo shows, cabarets, sketch shows and musicals (all great and welcome, btw), it was delightful to see a A beautiful love story, no less, that imagines Andy and Sid from "Toy Story," after their childhood run-ins, falling for one another and working out their relationship well into adulthood. With gentle, grounded performances from the two leads and thoughtful, well paced direction (and script adaptation) from Lanchi Le, this play was touching, funny and very entertaining.... full review

A very beautiful, touching piece of theatre. What moved me the most, was that this was a story that put two queer men in the focus, but never resorted to the tropes of typical queer stories. It was a slice of life, and refreshing to see queer people not be tragically struck down by disease, or their relationship torn apart by cheating, or the other stereotypical staples. I’m sorry I saw the last performance of this surprisingly wonderful play last night. It was a surprise because one rarely gets to see a work so genuinely moving, funny and sweet in the theater much less at a Fringe festival where the emphasis is usually on experimentation. ... full review

Very touching story about love and staying together through thick and thin, based on the characters Andy (who owns the cool toys) and Sid (the bully next door) from "Toy Story."... full review

It was the simplicity of Under the Table and Dreaming that struck me. Although the story primarily revolved around Andy and Sid, it was really brought to life by the profound relationships built between each character. I found myself especially moved by how it showed all the places where love grows: between a mother and a son, brother and a sister, a father and a daughter; between resolutely dramatic friends and unlikely ones; and between two men, impossibly different, still healing together. ... full review

A refreshing break from all the shows that scream 'FRINGE,' "Under the Table and Dreaming" is an earnest, nostalgic look at the "what ifs" in life that we all face at one point or another and takes us on a tailspin adventure diving deeper into the meaning of the "what ifs" as the show progresses.... full review
