John Brahan and Dan Schultz are great collaborators and All Our Pretty Songs is proof of that. I look forward to seeing more from these two.... full review

Dreams clashing with stark reality can be brutal. Mix in celebrity worship, grandiose delusions, depression and suicidal ideation and you've got a recipe for potential disaster. This show explores how 3 young people struggle with their desire to be successful musicians in Hollywood. Their options in reaching that goal is limited by differences in circumstance, talent and most importantly mental stability. At the core of this show is a somewhat understated and yet exceptionally powerful performance by Dan Schultz. As his character was revealed to be more and more fragile I found myself wanting someone to give him a big hug and call a therapist. It is a powerful and thought-provoking show all around.... full review

The show was very well thought out and honest. The focus on "starving artists" in LA provided an excellent vehicle to talk about mental health and the struggles that come with it. I found myself really caring about the characters and wanting them to succeed. They won the audience over with authenticity and I would be surprised if anyone who saw the show did not identify with one, if not all, of the characters. ... full review

I was laughing so hard. It made me feel like it was a real thing happening. Those three actors worked really well with each other. If i could go to another show like that or even the same one again I totally would. It was worth the 20+ hour drive to Cali to watch three great actors light up the stage.... full review

A surprisingly deep introspection of what it means to be an artist and how far you're willing to go for your dreams. A story that resonates with everyone in the audience. What do you do when your goals are impossible?... full review

The team of John Brahan and Dan Schultz won the Fight the Power award last year. I saw that play and I really liked it. But All Our Pretty Songs is a big leap up. Both Brahan's writing and Schultz direction have matured and grown in exciting ways. And the addition of a third partner, Shanlie Phillips really adds a great element to their work. ... full review

Beautiful insight to young starting musician Struggles. Mental health issues are a serious oversight in society. This piece touches on it in a way that brings you to the edge of your seat that is very real.... full review

There's some really nice thematic elements and unique choices made in All Our Pretty Songs. Being that most people who will see this show are likely artists in some way, I think this show does a great job of creating a relatable story that can provide a wonderful sense of catharsis. Everyone has a dream, and it's really interesting to see the conflicting ideas of what a "dream" is in this show. ... full review
