MIL GRUS

dance & physical theatre · mil grus · Ages 15+ · United States of America

world premiere

Los Angeles’ premier bouffon troupe, Mil Grus, is a motley crew of miscreants who just crawled out of the gutter to make you question your own reality. They have been delighting and terrifying Los Angeles indie comedy audiences since 2018. A little sweet, a little scary, and always evocative, this visual, visceral show is different every time and can only be experienced live. Mil Grus’ timeless satire features improvised feats of physical and existential comedy that defy explanation and provoke unfettered, eery glee. Come see what’s behind the curtain…

Mil Grus means “One Thousand Cranes” and one of them is always awake.

The royal court keeps the lepers, the cripples, and the mentally feeble outside of the palace walls to fend for themselves, but once a year they are allowed back in for a lark. They must mock the court carefully, lest they be stoned to death—luckily they are very cunning—the fool alone can speak truth to the king.

Ensemble Members: Helene Udy, Grayson Morris, Jeremy Sapp, Jenson Lavellee, Isaac Kessler
