MONIQUE LEBLEU the los angeles beat, better lemons certified reviewer July 05, 2019
With mass information coming at us through our devices and from all sides—presidents shouting "Fake news!," Tsunami triggered nuclear meltdowns, magic bullet theories, and a daily deluge of other potential (and actual) conspiracies (“My Internet's down! I'm blocked out my emails! Am I hacked? Is it the Russians?” ) it's no wonder that were don't already believe that up is down, right is left, or right is wrong. ... full review

An insightful, honest, funny and at times slightly unnerving look at how easily one can be sucked into conspiracies and harmful cults. It feels so intimate and familiar that by the end you are left satisfied if not a tad paranoid. I mean that in the best of ways.... full review

I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I came to see this show. Leaving it, I'm -still- not entirely certain what I saw. Was this a show trying to persuade me the earth is flat (which I don't believe based on my OWN experiments as a kid)? Does the author still actually even believe that? One of my favorite shows at Fringe. Kirkland's story about how he became (for a time) obsessed and convinced by various YouTube conspiracy theories is utterly compelling. It's well written, well directed, and really well performed. ... full review

James Kirkland is a charismatic and hilarious performer with an unique perspective who has some incredible stories. A terrific show about what we believe and how we believe and what really matters. You should be watching every James Kirkland show available.... full review

The actor was very likable and appealing. He did a great job connecting to the audience and connecting us to his story. There is a lot of humor and also some nuggets of universal truth that will probably ring true for everyone in the audience. It made me laugh but it also it made me think. I left feeling better and more positive about myself and this sometimes crazy world of ours, than when I entered the theater. I highly recommend it.... full review

If you came here looking for answers as to all your questions about the Flat Earth theory, you’ve come to the wrong place. What James Kirkland does is pose some questions and that he does masterfully. Besides, you can’t get a lecture in 45 minutes and you didn’t sign up to a Ted Talk, this is Fringe!... full review
