She was absolutely wonderful. I am always hesitant to go to one person shows because it could go either way...but so glad I went to this beautiful, tragic show. The story was heartbreaking and the acting lovely. Highly recommend. ... full review

I love shows based on actual people and Ms. Armstrong did an amazing job bring the story of Ms. Jacob to life. I hope Wynn Handman is able to expand the show to give her more to work with and delve a bit more into Ms. Harriett Jacobs life post slavery.... full review

This is a story that needs to be told. Ms. Armstrong is an deeply gifted actor. This quickly paced show is driven by her stellar vocal and physical abilities. She turns on a dime from joy to pain to bring this character and the story out of history and into today. ... full review

Awesome story, skillfully acted, unbelievable, yet believable at the same time, meaning that the torture she had to endure for seven years was unbelievably inconceivable, yet believable, knowing that slaves in general endured treatment that was so horrific it could never be truly re-created. Did this slave girl really endure this? Was it a story she just conceived in her mind and wrote, directed, and acted? Could she have came across the memoirs of the actual slave girl that experienced this? We just don't really know for sure.... full review
