An comedically intricate look at Shakespeare's life. I was blown away by Fisher's sense of timing, voice and ability to have a hummingbird like energy through times of silence and revelry. I especially dug the use of U2 and Hathaway. His musicians, Alistair Cooper (guitar magician) and Allison Sulock (master of obscure instruments) bolstered the energy and audience, making this one of the tightest pieces of theater I have seen yet. Please go see this! ...

In the name of full disclosure:
I just recently met Michael Shaw Fisher; I thought he was a swell guy. I was familiar with some of his past work. Was a big fan of his 2012” “Doomsday Cabaret”, an antic romp with a wide array of the apocalyptic myths?
I thought “Exoricistic – The Rock Musical Parody Experiment” was one of the best shows in Fringe 2013 (And so did just about everybody else – awarded “Best Musical”)
And 2014”s “Werewolves of Hollywood Blvd”? It was okay (But I mean “Okay” in a really, really…good way.)
What I’m saying here is that I know Michael Shaw Fisher is a clever and talented kinda guy. However I wanted to see his “Shakespeare’s Last Night Out”, a song fest depicting the last night of Shakespeare’...

LOVED IT!!!
Fisher is masterful in his portrayal of William Shakespeare-- incredibly fluid in his movements, fully transforming from character to character & bringing the audience along for a ride they'd never forget.
Historical, fun & remarkably well penned! Thus far my favorite show I've seen... whether you know a little or a lot about the bard, this is most definitely a MUST SEE!...

From my first fringe experience a couple years ago, I've admired Michael Shaw Fisher's work. His rock musicals are always smart, biting, hilarious, brutal, and beautiful. With this show, he's gone above and beyond. (He also happens to be an all around awesome guy, who embodies the generous, artist-community spirit of the fringe festival.) Few people could pull off a one-man musical about William Shakespeare, but Michael is the perfect man for the job. A scribe himself, he knows the agony and the ecstasy of birthing a piece of drama and bringing it to life with a ragtag troupe of players.
As the evening unfolds, Shakespeare reflects on his life through songs and recounts the writing of some of his best known works. It’s like a cross betwe...

Just to be in the spirit of this remarkable show, I will quote the Bard in my review--"We few, we happy few..." who got to be in the audience for the 2pm performance yesterday were taken on a journey with the inspired Michael Shaw Fisher as he channeled William Shakespeare at the 3 of Clubs--the absolute perfect setting for this story!I was entranced, delighted, and awed by Fisher's generosity of spirit, his perfect balance of drama and humor, the seamless use of live music (wonderfully accompanied by Alistair Cooper and Allison Sulock) and his obvious affection and knowledge of/for the world's most famous writer. I felt like I was part of the show, included on the most intimate level, and needed as an audience member. Thank you, thank you fo...

to be honest, i think i'm more of a michael shaw fisher fan than a shakespeare fan, and to see any of MSF's creations delights me. This guy is prolific, fun, a delightful, committed actor, and the real deal. Yes, it's nice to see first timers at the festival, but for me, seeing someone create over and over again like Michael does, is where it's at. A true artist/actor/writer who owns that three of clubs stage (and room)... and keeps us entertained from start to finish. I can only imagine if you're familiar with Shakespeare your mind will be a firing on a cylinders. But even as someone who isn't, the magic in MSF's songs, performance and wordplay will not be lost on you....

Now this is how you do it. My personal feelings of Michael Shaw Fisher aside (I love the man), he has written and composed and performs an AMAZING piece of theater. Remember the award-winning The Devil & Billy Markham last year?? This is EVEN BETTER (And that's saying a lot:-)
Script is flawless, every moment of the 70 minutes are crystal clear, in intent and content; even the songs advance the plot and emotional journey, and there’s ample variation in the melodies of the musical numbers. Jeff Summer’s direction is seamless, invisible, and the two musicians are equally flawless. But it’s Michael’s show all the way, he is mesmerizing—I truly believed I was sitting in a pub late at night listening to the Bard regale us with his fascinat...

My first Fringe standing ovation - and so well deserved! This is my first Fringe, and my first time seeing Michael Earl Fisher on stage. And what a wonder to behold!! From the smallest rhyming whisper to U2 references he draws us in as he weaves a rompish retelling of Shakespeare’s life. The live music, simple set and exquisite costume set the stage for Fisher’s fabulous energy. I must admit, I’ve occasionally been swayed to the doubter’s camp. But Shakespeare’s Last Night Out has brought me firmly back into the welcoming arms of Shakespeare As Author. This is a piece I hope has a life as long as the Bard....

Ever see a show and snort quietly, smugly to yourself, "I could do that"? I have never once said that watching Michael Shaw Fisher. My head was about to fly off my neck trying to figure out which element had me reeling the most. "It's the near-demented commitment to character. No, No, it's the shockingly inventive lyrics. Nope, the most jaw dropping thing is the music itself. Fuck it...I give up." At root, the best thing about this show is the certainty you'll have that Fisher is KILLING himself to entertain the hell out of you. He leaves everything on that stage just so YOU can have an amazing time. That sick generosity is everything. ...
