A truly heartfelt story that touched us as we accompany him on his journey battling cancer. We experience with him his pain, joys and most of all the love of his family and a special bond he shares with his doctor whilst on this journey. He reminds us that like him , we are indeed fortunate ones. His storytelling was thought provoking, honest with plenty of charm and humor. Thoroughly enjoyable.... full review

An extraordinary story of a young man's battle with cancer. Through his eyes, we are able to experience his pain and suffering but most importantly the love of his family. Young Danny Alotta bears his soul in this deeply personal solo account of his extraordinary journey through cancer. This is a touching, sometimes shockingly explicit reveal of the experience and his inner most thoughts and feelings. Alotta, new to the stage but showing creditable acting talent, takes us on a journey where we veer from being observers to feeling like we are participants. Based on his book of the same name, Joy Juice (his teenage description for the chemotherapy drugs) we are plunged into the trauma of diagnosis, the ravages and the brutal impact of the treatment and the emotional roller coaster ride that he and his family were forced to endure. Despite this, there are gentle moments of warmth, affection and humor that reinvig... full review

An honest and simple show about one man's journey through a death defying health crisis. Danny brings a sincere and understated tone to his portrayal of himself in this autobiographical one man show. I laughed and cried and was reminded of what a special gift life truly is. AND Danny's JOY JUICE Foundation is a great cherry on top this sundae. He has truly used alchemy to take his life experience and help children with cancer through his foundation which provides them fashion make-overs to make them feel better and more empowered. WAY TO GO DANNY! I am behind you 100%!!... full review

A heartfelt and no-punches-pulled personal narrative of a teen's fight and triumph over cancer. Though a biographical vignette can't offer the structured rise-and-fall of a work of fiction, Joy Juice offers plenty of laughter, twists, and drama. Danny's affable personality and down-to-earth delivery helps give uplift to a sometimes harrowing account, and keeps the weighty subject matter from getting lachrymose. Though you know from the get-go that Danny survived and triumphed, the sometimes-funny, sometimes-intensely-gripping story of his journey is well worth following. ... full review

"Beauty is, truth beauty." Joy Juice is a story brimming with truth, and is a beautiful experience to behold because of that truth. Danny's story is one of courage told with such utter sincerity, it's hard not to root for him. He bares his soul, sharing even the most intimate details behind his fight against Lymphoma, and that brutally honesty, that bluntness he employs as he shares the many highs and lows he experienced, makes this show that much more relatable and deeply affecting. Bravo. ... full review
