STUPID SONGS Under the Direction of Keri Safran , and accompanied by “The Stupid Band” (Dan Wessels, Eric Kalver, Brebtib Jissak and Carla Capolupo) fifteen professional singers do what all professionals dream of: Totally trash their profession. Essentially everything you need to know about this show is there in the title. All it is, is a hodge-podge of 19 stupid songs. The brainchild of director Keri Safran, Stupid Songs is a musical revue consisting of 19 original tunes covering topics that range from serial killing to teen pregnancy to “dad bods.” Of course, there’s a lot of L.A.-centric humor and a riotous opening number that gently skewers the Fringe itself.... full review

From the moment the cast fills the stage in a parody of Fringe artists to the tune of “Hello” from Book of Mormon, you know you’re in good hands. Irreverent, incisive, and wickedly funny, these songs are anything but stupid. Full review at "original article."... full review

Just awesome. I had the WORST day at work before I went to she the show. The music and comedy uplifted my spirit and reminded me why I go to live theatre. This fast-piece musical troupe keeps the laughs coming with clever songs, wonderful costumes, talented singers, and skilled musicians. There is nothing Stupid about it. Go see it and take as many people with you as you can. They will thank you for it!... full review

Stupid Songs was a hoot! Everyone had stellar vocal chops, the staging was simple and effective, and the energy of the piece as a whole was really fun and engaging. At times, I wished there was a narrative thread or uniting theme for the show (hard not to compare a comedic musical revue to fringe regulars, Lost Moon Radio), but ultimately the show's cohesion rests in the very timely, fresh comedic perspective (a love song to Robert Durst? Hilarious) apparent in each song. Not a dud in the bunch - and the song about what to do with your arms was the. best. ever!... full review
