"You've got a song you're singing from your gut, you want the audience to feel it in their gut. And you've got to make them think that you're one of them sitting out there." -Johnny Cash The music in this production of WE CAN BE ONE can be described in one word...SOULFUL. From the moment Devin S. Norris (pianist) and Owen Clapp (string bass) placed their hands on the instruments to the clever use of props as percussion, I was captivated. The music and lyrics written by Producer/Director Jaeger Christian requires a strong soulful vocal cast. Nora Rothman, playing Geordie Kieffer's boyfriend and the leading lady's best friend, has such a great range. Beautiful sentiment, almost felt stream of consciousness to me. Loved the orchestration and combination of keyboard and bass. PTSD is important subject matter to tackle. Kudos to the authors for taking it on. ... full review

This was a really beautiful and touching musical about finding love and losing it, played out against the backdrop of young men dealing with war and it's aftermath, and how it affects their relationships. The music and lyrics really shined, a much softer offering than most of the other musicals I've been to so far, which was a nice change of pace. The vocals were solid, and the two lead females were excellent, though the acting was hit-and-miss when it came to the supporting roles.... full review
