Talk about a BOLD production!! The Werewolves of Hollywood Blvd. was wildly funny and entertaining. The actors are all 110% committed to the story and their characters. I loved watching them all interact during the ensemble pieces and really play off of one another. AND WOW CAN THIS CAST SING. The whole time I was watching it I kept having to remind myself I was at the Fringe. A production of this size (set, props, band) on a Fringe stage is so brave and wonderful to commit to. Michael Shaw Fisher's book and lyrics are clever and sharply written and he rocks the house as the French werewolf. The female werewolf's song was AMAZING. The actress who played her captivates you from the moment she walks on stage even in the ensemble. Pete... full review

This show is everything Fringe is and should be. On first glance, you may want to write this off for yet another attempt at bringing mythical creatures into today's world. That's if, and only if you are not familiar with this company and this team's consistent bar-raising excellence on stage. And you see the title and what plays out in your mind is a musical montage of Michael J Fox and Taylor Lautner, (not saying it did), just ignore those thoughts for a much sexier set of werewolves, and much much better music and writing. There is not a moment of escape, from the first beat to the last, I was involved. I wanted to be there, I was there, and I believe in the power of the wolf. Should you find yourself in a coma this month, ahem, Go... full review

I am so sick of "Horror" musicals that aren't actually scary. Nor making any effort to be scary. The fact that the three actors playing the werewolves are fantastic singers, and that there are at least three decent songs, can't make up for the disjointed mess that is the script. Nonsensical would be a polite way to put it, but jumbled excuse to get to the next song would be more apt. I wonder sometime if Jesse Merlin gets tired of being good in bad productions or if it's just his thing. The whole production couldn't seem to decide if they were doing a serious show or a camp revue. In the end all I could think was that if it were just a little better or a little worse I'd enjoy it more. ... full review

I have to say…I really loved this crazy new rock musical. In my book, it’s the kind of show that embodies all that is best about the Fringe, with its unconventional characters, sly direction (by Aaron Lyons), pert choreography (by Michelle LaVon), and wicked twist on a relevant message. The musical balances broad comedy with a subtler kind of humor that sometimes takes an extra beat to sink in before you can fully appreciate it, so listen closely to the dialogue and the lyrics and you won’t be left behind. The Werewolves of Hollywood Blvd is a collaboration between Michael Shaw Fisher (book & lyrics) and Michael Teoli (music & additional lyrics) with the Orgasmico Theatre Company, the same folks who brought Fringe favorites Exorcistic and... full review

The entire show was entertaining, funny, never dull, and music was good. Bear in mind that the subject matter is werewolves, so do go expecting a pretty musical. The singers were talented. We saw the opening night and it was already great, and I'm sure it will become even better. The only negative was that some of the mikes sounded too low, which I'm sure they will work out.... full review

A good time was had by all tonight @ Werewolves of Hollywood. An original concept by raconteur Michael Shaw Fisher who is also quite delightful as a werewolf, the story will keep you guessing until the very end (no spoilers here.) It is fast paced with lots of music and movement. The libretto is alternatively to the point and yet wickedly funny. Quirky and humorous performances by the actors...special shout outs to David Haverty and Kyle Nudo. GO! ... full review

A very enjoyable fantastical rock musical! The harmonies were beautiful, the props were creative, and the choreography was impressive. I found myself very intrigued and caught up in what would happen next. Those who love fantasy and musicals should put this show on their must see list!... full review

The acting, dialogue, and music were all rockin'. I would have liked to see more of the female werewolf's story! Love her song. Kudos to the actor who played the big bad corporate CEO; he did wonderful work, but considering the classic gender imbalances we see in Hollywood, I would have enjoyed seeing that role gender-swapped (or the other female characters given more agency independent of the male characters). It's a very rockin' musical and thoroughly enjoyable!... full review

when I saw this show, I wasn't sure how to write a review, but I am an Orgasmico fan. I saw excorcistic twice last year, and got really into the movie after. I had a great time at werewolves, and so did my fellah friend, and this show will only get tighter and grow. Despite the sound issues when I saw it or the occasional clunks, I don't care. Next go around, I'll be in the audience bopping my head and howling at the moon after. (or more likely, I'll singing one of the songs!) (then howling)... full review

despite the technical issues, the music was excellent and the performances committed and inspired. The Werewolves of Hollywood Blvd are proof that Orgasmico never fails to entertain. i must admit that i was often distracted by a variety of glaring tech issues - including a script light from up the light booth stairs blasting me in the eyes nearly the entire show - , but i enjoyed it so much that i'll definitely see it again when i can tell the tech issues are straightened out.... full review
